Eunie Alsakar, LICSW
Therapist
*Eunie is accepting new private-pay and MN Medicaid clients.*
I believe in the importance of support and the power of connection. Healing often happens in the spaces where pain and compassion meet, and I strive to create that space for each person I work with.
My passion, training, and experience come together in the area of grief and loss. I recognize the many forms of loss we experience throughout life and the profound impact this has on our well-being and relationships. After retiring from Winona State University, where I worked for 24 years, I now provide therapy to adults of all ages.
As a grief-informed therapist, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including meaning-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion practices, spirituality, and evidence-based treatments for anxiety and depression.
In my free time, I enjoy walking in the woods, reading with a cat nearby, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. I call the bluffs of Winona home and feel grateful to support clients throughout the state.
Some areas of clinical focus include:
Grief & Loss
Anxiety
Life transitions
