Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision, and I believe healing begins in spaces where you feel respected, understood, and valued. I approach therapy from a person-centered, trauma-informed perspective and see our work together as a collaborative partnership; one where your voice, experiences, and goals guide the process.
I am committed to practicing with cultural humility and a social justice lens, recognizing how systems, identity, culture, and lived experience shape our mental health. As a Black, Somali, and Muslim woman, I bring both personal insight and professional training into the therapy space, and I strive to create an affirming, nonjudgmental environment where you can show up as your full self.
My approach is informed by trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which I use flexibly to meet your unique needs. For clients who identify as Muslim, I can also integrate Traditionally Integrated Islamic Psychotherapy (TIIP) when desired, in ways that feel supportive and meaningful to you. I walk alongside my clients with care, curiosity, and compassion, supporting you as you move toward healing, growth, and a more connected relationship with yourself.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with warmth, respect, and collaboration, I would be honored to walk alongside you in this next step of your journey.
